"It's 2 years later and I finally got the guts to come say hi. I couldn't bring myself to it last year, and I'm visiting all 15 of you on the same day this year. It's too much to visit all 15 of you on the exact days. See you next year."

"Dear Victor A. Gonzalez Family, My sincerest condolences on your loss. My name is Marc Dull, I am a USAF Veteran and an Artist from Illinois. Thank you for your Victor's Honorable Service and Ultimate Sacrifice for America and it's Values. His Legacy will endure by God! I found Victor's Memorial page while doing some research for a very important project that I thought you might want to know about. I just returned from Camp Pendleton where I visited the Commanding Officer of the 5th Regiment. I am preparing to sculpt a large monument specifically for the 5th Regiment and the Fallen Heroes in Operation Iraqi Freedom for the Memorial Garden area on Camp San Mateo there. Please e-mail me at dullart7@cs.com if you would like to contribute any input or feedback. I would be honored by your participation on behalf of Victor! Semper Fidelis, God Bless you and your Family, Salute"

"To The Family of Victor A. Gonzalez-
I have been doing research as a High School student and our assignment was to write a letter to the people who lost their lives in Iraq. I never new Mr. Gonzalez but I do not need to, I do not need to know him to know what he has done for me and my family. I live far away from California so I cannot give Mr. Gonzalez's family this message myself. So, I wrote it here. I hope that his family gets this message and brings it to his grave so that he still knows how much he has done. Thank you"

"To the family of LCPL Victor Gonzalez: His 2/5 has now returned from its second deployment in Iraq. My "adopted" Marine arrived home safely. I believe that Victor and the other 14 who paid the ultimate sacrifice on this tour were watching over him from above. I will be forever grateful for that. Please accept my condolences on your loss. The sacrifices of young Americans like Victor is what keeps this country free and safe. May we always have heroes willing to serve. Semper Fi!"
