"Bubba I miss you much it's been 10 years and it seems like yesterday. You are my hero. Not a day goes by that I don't think of you. I know I will see you again so until then.you will forever be in my heart. I miss my best friend the laughs, the late night talks all of our crazy adventures we never had a dull moment. Bryson talks about you all the time. Wanting to know what his uncle Travis would have done or thought about something. Everyday I look at him and I see you. It's crazy how much he reminds me of you. "Dear Casie, I would like to thank you for your kind thoughts and prayers that you sent me for my son Cpl. Christopher J. Lapka and to tell you that you are in my prayers too. Travis and Christopher seemed to be very good friends. I received some pictures from Hawaii from somebody and they all had the same 5 Marines in them. Through some internet site I saw a picture of your Travis, and he was in just about every picture with Christopher. So I would like to tell you that it brought me comfort to know that my son was with one of his best friends when he was killed and that he did not die alone. I'm sorry that I havent written sooner, but the words just wouldn't come to me. I received your card in the mail and was going to email you but I'm not sure of the address if the last part is lin29 or linz9 if you could send me another message on Christophers page I would love to correspond with you, once again I am truly sorry for your loss and will keep you in my prayers, Tina Lapka, proud MARINE MOM of CPL. "Casey:

No words or hugs can ease the pain you are feeling. The next few days are going to be difficult.

For Travis, I am so proud of him. He married a very precious young lady whom we love dearly. He sacrificed his life for our country and our freedom. Travis has fought his last battle and reached his final destination.

Travis was your husband, your love and the man you wanted to share the rest of your life. You had dreams and goals. At this point in your life it seems unfair that all had to end. Life was disrupted, but we must remember God is in charge. Keep your faith in our God and he will see you through the days ahead. I pray for the peace in your heart that only God can give you.

Please rely on family and friends during this time. We are here to help you. Believe me, you will need your time alone in the days to come. Its OK to cry, but remember to laugh. You have many wonderful memories.

Have faith Casey; Remember Godís people may fall, but we rise again. There will be questions and feelings you will not understand. Just remember God had a reason and he has a plan.

Our time here on earth is short and can end without notice or reason. Nevertheless, the next time you meet Travis, it will be for eternity.

I love you Casey and I am here for you.

Your friend,"
Debbie Ferguson-Reese of Duncan, SC USA

We only met you once in your short time on earth, but the heroic act you did for us will live on in our minds. Our prayers are not for you now, as they were before, but for your dear wife and family you left behind. You do not need our prayers, for you are in heaven, but your loved ones do. We are the ones that must go on without you. The prayers we offer to our Lord now are for the ones that you have touched on earth. You died defending this country so that my family and I may live a peaceful and free life, and for that I am eternally grateful to you and I look forward to a day when I may walk into heaven and personally thank you for what you have done for this county. My prayers now are for your family and especially for Casie who had you for such a short time.
