"Dear Family and Brothers,
I'm am proud to have known your Son & Friend. I remember many times during the training cycle when we were pushed to our physical and mental limits. Luis would always help push his men to get them threw the training. He Granados & Gomes would always hang out like the three stooges. I saw Granados few years back in AFG. He was Co. GySgt, stepped up after his GySgt was KIA. Capt Erb (then Sgt Erb) always spoke very highly of Luis. The young Capt was assigned to my COC in AFG after being shot in the strike plate. We talked about Luis everyday. He was a natural leader. He would get wild on weekends but when time to work he was one of the best of us. Quiet & reserved until you pissed him off. Yep thats Luis. I do miss him, not forgotten. Never forgotten! Rest in piece brother, thank you for being there for us all over the years."

"I was rack mates with Luis during SOI, we went to Oceanside together one weekend, and like boots we rode the shuttle. We decided to take the free lunch being offered as a joke at first and listen to them talk to us about Christ. As we listened our attitudes changed, I can say that He accepted Christ into his life that day. I ended up at Camp Lejeune but when I saw his name in the Marine Times my heart dropped and then I remembered that day that we were both saved. I know I will see you again buddy! Semper FI"

I wish I could take the families pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have.
