"Phil was my Platoon Leader at Ft. Hood. I learned many things from him along the way, one of those being compassion for my subordinates. He never knew, but Phil was my inspiration to join the officer corp. I hope he can look down and be proud of what he sees. He still drives me to do my best and will always be my LT."
1LT Sean Buchanan of Ft. Hood, TX

"Your husband/son was a great company comander and friend! He did not have an easy task, but he always was fair and gained the respect of the officers that were in his command. He made me a better officer. I think of him often and smile at the memories."

"Greetings, I've worked with Phil on a number of projects at Citigroup.

His spirit will continue to live on in each of us..."
Karen London-Robinson, of NY, NY

"Hi,

My name is pape ndiaye and I worked with phil for many years at citigroup. Phil and I sat right next to each other and developed a very good friendship over the years we worked together. I continue to miss phil dearly and hope and pray that he is in a better place. I also pray every day for his wife sioban, daughter madelaine, and parents. Phil is still one of the best human being I have met in my life."
pape ndiaye of jersey city, nj / usa

"As Phil's first company commander, I began our relationship thinking of all the things I could teach him. Now, I think only of the things he taught me. Part of me died with him, and I hope to always honor his memory by being half as good a soldier as he was. Mostly, I want his daughter Madeline to know what a fine man her Daddy was. It was my privelege to have known him. Siobhan, Michele and I think of you often, and we wish you the strength to preserve the memory of your wonderful husband for your beautiful little girl."
Major John Schurtz of Beijing, China

"Phil and I worked together and shared a cubicle wall for two years. During that time period I came to realize what a man of integrity he was, at such a young age. He was a devote family man and an Honorable Officer of our Country's Military, willing to sacrifice what we all take for granted so that we could continue to live in a "safe" world. There aren't any words that can heal the loss that his family shares and there are no words that can describe the loss to society of such a decent human being. There is no doubt in my mind that Phil has been anointed a "Guardian Angel" of Heaven!"
Arlene Buhse of New York, New York

"I am very sorry for your loss, I was one of the nurses that took care of him in tikrit.

"Phil was an old friend from the Academy. We used to hang out on orienteering trips. He will be remembered as a great American who loved his country with all his heart. A great man and friend who was loved be all who met him. Be Thou At Peace."
Steve Berlin of Fort Knox, KY

"I went to school with Phil for many years and I never heard him say a mean word about anyone. He did not have a mean bone in his body. He was honorable, kind, and wise beyond his years- the consummate gentleman. Mr. and Mrs. Esposito raised him so well- losing him so young is such an unimaginable tragedy. Siobhan and Madeline have been robbed of a lifetime of happiness with Phil. Our country has lost a determined leader and the world has lost one of its truly good guys. God bless the Esposito family. May Phil know how much he was loved and how terribly he is missed."
Sharon Nevin Drumgoole of Highland Mills, NY

"To the Famiily of Phil Esposito: I was lucky enough to have hired Phil and have him as part of my team for 5 years. Having spent 21 years myself serving this Country, brought Phil and I even closer together. Phil will always be remembered as a special hero to me. I loved our discussions and sharing emails with him while in Iraq. I will miss Phil dearly and will never lose the memory of Phil and his family. There is no reconciliation for the way Phil departed this life. My sincerest sympathies to the Esposito family."
Mike Vande Woude of New York, New York

"SOLDIER,i was which others did not want to be. i went where others fear to go,and did what others failed to do. i asked nothing from those who gave nothing, and reluctantly accepted the thought of eternal loneliness...should i fail. i have seen the face of terror;felt the stinging cold of fear;and enjoyed the sweet taste of a moments love. i have cried, pained, and hoped...but most of all,i have lived times others would say were best forgotten.at least someday i will be able to say that i was proud of what i was... a soldier! god bless you phillip from my family to yours we thank god for your gift"
kurt weinel of saint petersburg,florida

"This is a hard time for us all. I was so saddened to hear about your loss and mourn deeply with your family, as I have known Phillip for a long time. We were in Boy Scouts together and I watched him grow right along side of me until we both reach its pinicle. He has been a motivation to a lop of younger boys from troop 78 and he will be sorely missed. I am sorry that I can not be there in person to mourn with you and send my condolences on a more intimate level, but my work has me out of the country. But if there is anything that you need just let me know and I will be there for you as I know he would be there for my family. My prayers go out to you and your family in this time of great sorrow, as well as the service men and women and their families who are all suffering in one form or another."
Thorton Ridder of Pearl River, NY
