"Mike, we served together in Okinawa. I was motor T for CAB on camp Schwab. When we all met we clicked and immediately started hanging out together. It was always you, sky lynch, josh, and myself. We all got to go to Thailand together on cobragold 2003. Just a bunch of young Marines running wild not knowing what to do or where to go. I got out sept 15 2003 after stop loss was lifted. I told you and all of my brothers goodbye and hope to see you again. In 2005 I was asleep and something told me to wake up. When I did, there was a woman on tv doing a memorial run in Phoenix and she was running for you. That's the first time I learned about your death. It hit hard, very hard. Still to this day I think of you daily and it's hard to talk about you to people without getting choked up and teary eyed. Rest easy brother, your job is done here. I'll see you in Valhalla brother. I love you and miss you everyday."
Cpl. Shepherd, Brandon USMC of fort worth, tx
