"It has already been a few years since you left us. There is no doubt in my mind that everyone of your soldiers that you took out on patrol everyday will always remember you. We were family, and will always be family."

""We "Strike Force" soldiers of the past, remember those who have come after us and have given the ultimate sacrifice. Specialist Hutchinson is NOT forgotten. We never served together, but you were a fellow Screaming Eagle--a fellow STRIKE FORCE trooper--a brother for eternity. Rest easy 'bro.""

I know you're looking on us as I type this, so i just wanted to take a minute to say thank you for everything you have done. I wish i had the chance to meet you. at your memorial, everyone talked about the great man you were. in my heart i know that any man who is willing to give what you did, is more than just a great man, hes a hero. Even though it's by marriage, im glad to call you family... im glad to call you a cousin. Now that i have a daughter of my own who is your blood family, it makes me that much more thankful for who you were. I pray for your wife and children, that even though they will miss you, that they will remember you are still with them in all the little ways. "To the Family of SFC Shawn Dostie:
We have constructed a memorial to the service men and women from Wisconsin and Illinois who have died in Iraq. Our memorial includes, as of 8/28/06, 162 crosses and Stars of David. We would like your permission to put Shawn's name on one of them. We have called our display "Arlington MidWest." It is our expression of mourning for the indescribable loss you have suffered for our country.

If you would like us to do this, please email me at arlingtonmidwest@yahoo.com.

We invite you to come to visit Arlington MidWest if you can. A friend has put us up on his website so you can see the memorial here:

"Shawn-
You were my husband, my best friend, and the father of our children. What a blessing it was to have you in my life for the last 12 years. I still wait for your call or an email saying that you are o.k. You had so many plans for the future; you were a dreamer. I miss your smile, the sound of your laugh, and your incredible spirit. You always gave and asked for nothing in return. How this world could possibly go on without you I will never know. You are our hero."
