"Chris, Joe, Darrius, Lee and family, and of course my dear Scouts,
As we approach the 9 year mark of that terrible day I am proud to say that you all continue to live on in my thoughts and prayers. It is with a heavy heart and many tears that I spend holidays such as Memorial Day, Independance Day and Vetrans Day. I am grateful for your sacrifice and feel the sting that comes with your loss. I will eternally ask myself, "What if?". It drives me to be better, in hopes that I never have to wonder "What if?" Again.
We will always miss you"
MAJ D of Astana, Kazakhstan

"To Christopher Dickison's family: I didn't know your son, but I am deeply grateful for his courage and sacrifice for our country. Last year at Christmas (2012) I selected his redbud tree at Warriors Walk at Fort Stewart to decorate with a wreath. I have since visited his tree from time to time to honor his memory and leave occasional mementos. He has not been forgotten."
