"To The Deblanc Family,

I can't believe that 4 years have gone by. I never knew Darren personally. I know my brother Kurt was one of his friends. I know Kurt was with Darren when he was hit. Kurt was taken almost a month later.
I don't think the pain will ever go away from the loss we have gone through. Sometimes it feels like you get used to it then you have that dream that brings all the feelings flooding back.
Just wanted you to know I will never forget Darren.
If for any reason you wanted to contact me my email is lancescham@live.com."

"Re: SPC Darren Alan Deblanc

Hello,
I represent PRAYER SHAWLS 4 FALLEN SOLDIERS (PS4FS), an organization that since October 2007 has sent over 2,800 prayer shawls to military families who have lost a loved one. We are an organization of over 240 groups from all over the country. We make every effort to reach families even when post cards are returned after they have moved. Would you kindly send me a contact email/address so that we may send a loving hand-made prayer shawl to the family? Thank you!

I didn'd know you very much, but I rebember when you would come down to our farm and wash your car, and I would get to say hi,and talk for a while. I will always remember you and never forget you, even when I get my own wings. I will never forget you. I would like to send my deepest condolences to his family. I plan on honoring Darren for the rest of my life. I am planning on joining the Marine Corps, when I graduate High School in 2010."

"Darren,
I still remember coming over to your house and playing football out in the park and also the very first tupac cd you gave me in middle school; we stayed up all night at your house playing outside and flipping a zippo lighter right out on the back patio,. You were my brother in arms and a very good friend. i think of you all the time and will never forget being in your funeral. i just wish that was never in my memory, i wish you could have came home. i'm sorry it couldn't happen, but God had a plan. i you will never be forgotten."

"I saw a decal on somebody's car window that made me think of you. It said "Heroes don't fall-- they gain wings." It's still hard to come to terms with reality even 3 years later, but at least I know I have gained an angel. Darren, we all miss you."

"Darren,
We all Miss You! I think about you often and miss you bunches. I know where you are and know you are having fun and watching over each of your family members and all your friends. It was a pleasure to get to know you and spend 8 years with you in school. You are one of the sweetest guys that I have ever met. I think the last time I talked to you was before we graduated, you told me that you were so glad that you had met me and that we had been through a lot together, you just wanted to tell me thanks for being a good friend and I told you the same. Ever time something happens that good in my life I hope it's you or Wes helping it happen. Luv you and Miss you!! ~Laura"

I typed in "who is darren" and its a very strange thing for me to end up here. let me just tell you why. i hope i do not upset anyone by this message. Last nite I thought i saw a angel I asked him his name and he said Darren which is our i ended up on this site. the strange thin about it is that the man i saw last nite was wearing army clothes so for me to end up here is pretty strange. I do not know anyone called darren and i do not know anyone in the army ?? the man that spoke with me last nite was a big man with dark blonde hair and red cheeks he held my hand and said he was going to take care of me. My mum died april 26th 3 years ago and Darren took me to speak with her last nite. it could of been a dream but it seemed so real. please do email me if you can tell me what darren looks like. Ok i sound like a complete fruit cake now so I will go. Once again I am very sorry for your loss of such a brave man. xx god bless shelleyluvspercy@aol.com"
