"To a man who pushed me to be a better solider, to enjoy life, not to sweat the small stuff, and love hard because life is short. I was station in Korea with SSG Davis in 2001-2002. I was never going to post anything because it made me so sad to know our last conversation before he was deployed ended on a sour note. I wish I could say I'm sorry. Even all these years later I still miss your smile and your corny jokes. How everyone was always hanging out in your room. I still miss you Craige."
Hill of Ga

"SSG Davis was my first squad leader when I arrived at Fort Campbell I was scared and not to sure about this place but with his corney jokes and big spirit he welcomed me into the company and then he just took on this like big brother image with me I appreciate how he looked out for me and kept us laughing at the sametime he use to talk about his family all the time I never got a chance to meet them but I know they had to be good peopel because he was a good leader. He will always be remembered I pray for you and your children that you have been able to take his spirit and move forward in life."

It was GOD aweful. Yuck. I think about it now and puke. *smilin* Mane, I can go on and on. I do remember you in Germany, I was stationed in Baumholder. We were suppose to connect and punk you left without saying bye mane. I understand. To your family whom I had the pleasure to meet and your moms treated me like her own. I say to your family, your son was a fool, I mean he stayed eating, playstation and cracking the corniest jokes that weren't funny, it's just the way he looked when he cracked them. Now to Rosalind. "Craig was my Team Leader when I was stationed with him at Fort Polk, LA in 1991 to 1993. I was shocked and saddened by the news of his death. I remember him always being there for me as a young Soldier. Anytime I had a question or did not know what to do he was always there to give me the anwser or show me the way. He could make friends with everyone he met. SSG Davis, I am proud to say was my friend, my leader, my role model and my Hero. My condolences go out to his family. He is gone but never forgotten. God Speed Craig."
SFC Tracy Morehead of Rawah, Iraq

I am sitting here crying for your child and hoping you will know, that regardless of one's politics and feelings about the war, that my heart goes out to you and all the families who have suffered this great loss. With Love and Care."

"My deepest and sincere condolences to the Family of SSG Craig Davis.

SSG “D” was my section sergeant in Korea, 2001-2002. As his platoon leader, I could say that he definitely was the balance that the platoon needed. He was always jovial, always smiling, always cracking jokes and always munching on something too; hence we call him “SGT SNACKS” sometimes. It was one of my best assignments so far, and thanks to him. Behind his casual approach on things, he was mission oriented, “just get the job done” type of NCO. I know that when I was not out on a convoy and he was in charge, I did not have to worry about a thing. I had always hoped he’d serve and work with me again sometime along the road, but that thought will just be an inspiration for me to continue what SSG “D” was all about. He will be greatly missed, by leaders and soldiers alike he had served with. God Bless."

"To one with whom I share a name.

Being reminded of the popular action of "googleing" your name by the radio stream that I was listening to; and being new online, I decided to see if I could find the greatest of those with whom I share a name.
It took only slightly longer than the 0.15 seconds to come up with 2.66 million listings, to know that my goal was achieved with the third website listed.
I read the circumstances under which God called you back to Him. I read testemonials & laments to you from family & friends. I read heartfelt offers of prayers to family that you leave behind from those whom you have touched and I further knew that I had found the greatest of those with whom I share a name.
As one who disagreed with his country's decision to not help to correct the mistake that we were a part of some twelve years previous, MY heartfelt prayers go to you and your family. I thank you for your courage and sacrifice. I now feel as though our name holds grace in the life to come."
Craig Davis of North Bay, Ontario, Canada

"I would like to thank Craig for being there when he was. He was like the father I never had. Whenever I, my mother, or sisters, and brothers were in need you were there. You taught me a lot in the years I got to know you. You were the first and only person who would let me drive. You played catch and basketball with me. I want to thank you again for the times you were there for me and my family. I would like to say that you will always be in my heart. Take care. I'm gonna achieve my goal of becoming a Basketball Player in the WNBA.
With Love"
Tanya of Chicago, IL

"I had the honor and priviledge of serving at Fort Campbell with Craig. He is truly a HERO in my eyes. He was leader who "led from the front" and believed in taking care of his soldiers. He believed in his commitment to the Army and taught me, as well as others to be better soldiers. His legacy will live on in the lives of those he touched: soldiers, friends, children and family members. It was truly a blessing to know him. TO THE FAMILY, there are no words that can be spoken or written that will ease the pain. Rely on God and he will strengthen you. I will keep you in my prayers. Although WE LOVE CRAIG - GOD LOVED HIM BEST!"

"To the family and friends of Staff Sergeant Craig Davis I offer my sincerest condolences. I know all too well the shock and grief that follows the seemingly untimely death of one we are so proud of. My son, Command Sergeant Major Eric F. Cooke, 1st BDE;, 1st AD, was killed Christmas Eve evening in Baghdad. There simply are no words that express the depth of ones loss in such situations. But I know you share with me the gratitude for our warriors that continue to fulfill their oath to provide for and protect our country and us. No greater love is there than to be willing to lay ones life down for the sake of others. For Craig to have reached the rank of Staff Sergeant I know he was a devoted soldier who volunteered again and again to do this selfless duty. My son told me, not long before his death, “Mom, terrorist are terrorist and if we do not stop them on their doorstep it will be our doorstep they are attacking, again.” I am determined to support our troops in any way I can, maybe even a little more so now that I have an investment in every one of our troops that pays the ultimate price for their courage and integrity. I pray for your healing and loving memories of Craig."
Mrs. Georgia F. Cooke of Molalla, Oregon
