"Cabral,
I am sorry I took so long to leave something for you. It took 2 yrs to stop crying about you and Mier. Another few years before I could leave something for Mier. Now, that's it's still a few years later, I cried looking up your names. You were one of the best men I have met, I can't even imagine how much good you could of done in your lifetime. I can't help but feel that I abandoned my post and maybe I could of prevented this if I was just able to do my job. You and Mier are a constant reminder that war is hell and the sacrifice for this country is so great. Til Valhalla"

"I remember San Antonio for cinco de Mayo. We all went down there with little money. Cabral bought the history of his family name from one of the vendors. We got back to Ft Hood and I remember him saying " I went to San Antonio with $200 and all I have to show for it is this piece of paper" he was a cool guy, I think about him a lot and always visit the memorial when im on Ft Hood. God Bless you and yours Juan."
Terence Gabriel of Williamsburg Virginia

"Its been along time coming, I am sending this to you and your family at a time i remember HIM the best. If there was a prank to be played he would be invovled but never directly. He was part of my section that I took over and a major part of the section. It is hard not remember the little things without Him always coming up. Firt to work and the last to leave for the night. At time very shy but mostly the first person to be ready for anything that came up. My story in 1-22In, Aco 4SB will never be complete for I am the one the agreed to send you out on that day in Jan. For that I am so sorry for the lost that was dealt to you and your family. It is hard knowing that the true family in the milatary was the ones that deployed with him and I was just an outsider looking in at times. My pain will never be calmed until that day I see him again probally on patrol or be a Hot rod mechanic for the one above. "DEEDS NOT WORD"
Forever in my thoughts.""
