"Ben,
I miss & appreciate you in every way. You were not only a great & cool cousin, you were a soldier. An honorable & respectable young man, serving in times of war to protect not only yourself & your freedom but your families, your friends, & millions & millions of people who you don't even know. You put your life at risk for this country & unfortunately it was taken. But you will never been forgotten, & you will never be unappreciated. You scarified yourself & I would like to personally thank you for protecting my freedom & all others who are serving & doing the same. Ben, I love you & miss you. I wish we would've been closer but I know we'll have that chance another day."

"Ben,

It has been awhile since I have gone down to see your dad and your gravesite, but I promise I'll do it again real soon. I read the book they wrote about our company and platoon when we were in Fallujah, damn did it bring back some not so good memories, but also a few good ones as well, like getting drunk off of stateside liquor we got mailed to us by friends, and then nearly getting caught. I graduate from college in May, I hope I made you proud. You will always be on my mind, you gave your life for me that day in Fallujah and I will never forget that."
