"I was very fortunate to have been a neighbor of the August family for many years. I was searching the web and this website just popped up and I felt compelled to write a note. I gave Matt a job helping me detail cars when he was young. I will never forget while most of his friends were still hours away from waking up on a few summer mornings, Matt never complained once. I never forgot that. It was a terrible day for me when I turned on the news early one morning to find Matt's picture on the television. I can't believe that 5 years have passed. Although I have moved a few towns away, my thoughts and prayers have always been with the August family. Matt, along with Dick, Donna, Mark, and Melanie were great neighbors and I know that Matt truly was a hero."
