"I am an Air Force medic who was stationed at the USAF Theater Hospital in Balad Iraq in May 05. While I did not know Travis he will always be with me. I was a member of the formation which escorted Travis to the aircraft when he left Iraq. This was the first time I had been on such a detail. Travis' name stuck with me when the Chaplain prayed for for him and all of you (family). I wrote his name down when I returned to my work area. "I had the honor of sharing Christmas Day with Travis in Naples, Florida. We went for a walk on the beach and everywhere he looked he saw a dolphin. It was a magical site to him and he said he would return. I am so glad that he was able to be with my family for a short time. He sat with my sons who are 12 and 13 and showed them a book about being a sniper and they hung on every word he said. They spoke about how cool Lupe was for days. He left a lasting impression of patriotism on the next generation of soldiers. We thank him for his bravery and courage. He was the genuine article! We only knew him for two days but his memory will last with us forever."
