"Brother, I am sorry it has taken so long.... Your death along with Lwin & Izzy have been nearly impossible to deal with. Not a day goes by that I do not think of you guys. I wish things could have been different that night, but they played out as they did. I only hope that you are at peace, and until we meet again. Thank you for my freedoms brother..."

"Ali, I will never forget the converstaion I had with you two weeks before I got injured in Iraq. I looked at you and said what can we do to try to catch the enemy before he/she catches us. You told me that there isnt enough that you can do. You said, "When its your time to go, its your time to go". I know you were always ready to get the mission finish. I remember when we were suppose to move to camp liberty, you and lwin tossed your room upside down and we ended up staying. I laughed all night because of that. Plus all the nights we went to the gym and ask lwin to come but he insisted on staying in the room to watch movies and go talk to his family. We had great times together and it was a honor to be around you before you left (even though I got injured in January) I still remember I told you and lwin over the phone that I was coming back to iraq, because of the strong bond we had built out there. The saddest parts were when I had to leave because I cant see out of my right eye and when I heard from Lafontaine that you guys had passed away. At first I thought it was a very bad joke, Im like thats impossible I just spome to him and Ali dont really play around. But they were serious and I didnt know what to say and do. But, I can truthfully say you are in a better place right now friend. You have loving family and friends writing you on this blog; on how they really feel. I just hope that you and your love ones are at peace."
