Thanks for being such a great friend, for always having listened to my stupid problems, for introducing me to the wonderful music of LOS FABULOSOS CADILLACS, but most of all I thank God that I had the chance of meeting u and having u light up my life. "Today is June 16, 2011. A full month after my Father's 7 year memorial anniversary, it never fails to get to me though as strong as I try and make myself every year I visit my Father's grave I too go over to my Good old friend Steven's grave. I am in tears right now as I write this, just as I was as soon as I saw his headstone once again, time will never take away the pain of losing a loved one or a very dear friend, his time came too soon. The last time I posted on Steven's page was back in 2005 you are very much still missed Steven. To the family of Steven... I would do anything for you guys just as Steven would have for any of his friends and family."

"Just dropping in to let you know you are never forgotten. To the family of Steven Acosta, I didn't realize he was on this website, so many of my other friends are unfortunately. Steven and I were close during my first deployment, we had a lot of great talks on our missions together I would love to be able to speak to someone in his family and I'm so sorry for your loss. He was a great kid, so funny, and giving. I read an article about him and how his mother always sent those sweets, I want to say thank you because I looked forward to those packgages myself, He always shared those suckers with me. Growing up in Nebraska, I had never tasted anything like that. Anyways, if you would like to contact me denarmoss@yahoo.com I hope to hear from you."

I wish I could take the families pain away but I can't. I am committed to loving ALL people, myself and our environment. I am committed to working on my happiness everyday because so many have died for my freedom to live my life. Thank you is not enough but it is all I have. "The soldiers do not speak. Nevertheless, they are heard in the still houses: who has not heard them? They have a silence that speaks for them at night and when the clock counts. They say: We are young. We have died. Remember us. They say: We have done what we could but until it is finished it is not done. They say: We have given our lives but until it is finished no one can know what our lives gave. They say: Our deaths are not ours: they are yours they will mean what you make them. They say: Weather our lives and our deaths are for peace and a new hope or for nothing we cannot say: it is you who must say this. They say: We leave you our deaths. Give them their meaning. We were young. they say. We have died. Remember us:"

"I did not know Steven, but it is obvious that he had so much life ahead of him, and that he had barely begun. Unfortunately, I know Steven only as a name on a piece of paper and a photo on a memorial wall. At a recent meeting of the California Democratic Party, the Veterans' Caucus arranged for the credentials badge of every member of the Democratic State Central Committee to carry the name of one of the fallen heroes of Afghanistan and Iraq. My badge had Steven's name on it. Being a former military officer, I felt that being paired with Steven imposed upon me a duty to give personal meaning to the words of the graveside honor guard, "On behalf of a grateful nation," and to find out who Steven was. My heart goes out to those who knew him in life. As for those of us who did not know him, we are grateful. Let none forget. Vade in pace."

"Today was my father's 1yr memorial, my family and I visited my father's gravesite at Calexico. My brother in law came walking towards us saying "Steven Acosta, 19" I quickly rushed to the headstone hoping it wasn't so and was shocked... tears came rolling down my eyes as I saw the fresh headstone he had passed away more than a year ago and not till now did I find out, I remember a good friend Steven Acosta from Junior High and High School years. An awesome friend was he, I am honored to have known such a friend, he was one of the few people I was looking forward to meeting again for our highschool reunion. The picture on the grave depicted him just as he was and who he represented. My condolence's to those left behind."

"HI, I have been trying to find other soldiers who passed away with
non-combat related injuries. I found your comment on fallenheroes memorial
and wanted to see if i could help. We have evidence suggesting their
was foul play with my brother and the army will not help us. All we
know is that they are trying to make it look self inflicted but the
soldiers say otherwise. I can get someone to help you
from military family speak out organization. Acosta family, please contact me as soon as possible.

"Through the shadow of the night and the sunlight of the day they stand up and fight for what they know to be right… they lay down and die for this same right they hold true to there hearts always willing to pay this high price…. But if we are asked what freedom means to us… we know it was our brother or son, husband , friend, cousin, our daughter, sister , or mother the one we stayed up night after night preying they would come home safe and finally the call, the knock on the door that this was not meant to be… and all our dream are set free … set free for another life… another time when we will all reunite…. And we the few we know the true price to freedom…. We know with every tear we cannot forget those who did not make it home… So we live with them in our hearts everyday and know that we will meet again some day.. To all of you how know what freedom is… don’t give up… we will never forget them… if you wish to contact me to just talk or whatever in this time of need prinzel010103@yahoo.com ….. God bless and keep all of you"
