"I met Chris the first day I arrived in Germany many years ago... We continued to run into each other throught our military assignments. I saw him at Ft. Rucker the Christmas before his deployment. I always thought of him as the guy I would keep running into. He was a wonderful man and a great Soldier and Pilot. I am currently serving in Iraq as a Medevac pilot and when we go out Id like to think that he is looking out for us."

"I served with Chris as HQ PSG at Giebelstadt Germany, 2001-2003, when he was a high-speed NCO. Awesome soldier - awesome man. We played softball together for B 159 AVN REGT and the Wurzburg Area Team. He was one of the better outfielders and hitters that I had played with (We called him "horse"). I remember one time we actually ran head-on into each other chasing a fly ball and he was knocked out, which surprised everybody because he outweighed me by 40+ pounds. We miss you, Bro. Call the next one, I'll back off...

"I have not seen Chris in long time after moving from Effingham, IL to Newbern,Tn after grade school. But I remember that smile and he was always happy. He was a good friend and we always made fun of eachother. The one thing that I do remember about Chris is that when he did something he put his heart and soul into it and I know that as a soldier he did just that. I often wondered about him and the rest of my friends, and all I can say is he made me proud and I am proud to have called him my friend !!!"
Laura Tieffel of Effingham,IL
